The Maryland Renaissance Competition is again for its 46th season with jousting tournaments, turkey legs and costumed revelers aplenty in Revel Grove close to Annapolis.
The competition runs on Saturdays and Sundays by Oct. 23. To have fun opening weekend on Aug. 27-28, children beneath 15 can get in without spending a dime with an grownup admission.
The schedule of performances has one thing for everybody, together with bite-sized Shakespeare performs, daring stunt reveals, story time and musicians enjoying old-timey shanties on historic devices.
Many lords, girls, pirates and knights will probably be in costume. Get within the spirit by raiding your closet for a Seinfeld-style puffy shirt and equipment, or getting there early to hire a dressing up. Leases begin at $10 for youths and $20 for adults.
Purchase tickets earlier than making the journey — the competition typically sells out on peak weekends.
For weekends by Sept. 11, admission is $24 for adults aged 16-61, $21 for these aged 62+ and $12 for youths 7 to fifteen. Admission costs improve for dates Sept. 12 to Oct. 23.
