Abu Dhabi Authorities will revise working hours and introduce an extended weekend in 2022 for public sector employees.

In an announcement issued on Tuesday, the Abu Dhabi Media Workplace mentioned {that a} 4 and a half day working week shall be carried out from subsequent 12 months, with weekend moved to Saturday-Sunday, and a half-day on Friday within the emirate.

The choice comes consistent with the UAE’s imaginative and prescient to reinforce its international competitiveness throughout financial and enterprise sectors, and to maintain tempo with international developments.

Earlier in the present day, the UAE introduced that it’s going to transition to a four-and-a-half day working week, with Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday forming the brand new weekend.

In response to the choice, the brand new weekly work schedule shall be carried out in Abu Dhabi throughout all authorities entities.

The work week will turn into Monday to Thursday with a half-work day on Friday.

As of January 1, 2022, the weekend will fall on Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday, January 2 to be an official vacation.
