Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Aviation Group, will add 50 tonnes of stomach capability to the US from November, it stated on Wednesday.
The extra capability will come by 4 new weekly direct passenger flights to John F Kennedy Worldwide Airport in New York from November 15.
With the addition of those flights, the service will supply 11 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and New York.
The introduction of further capability to Etihad Cargo’s winter schedule brings the overall cargo capability into and out of the US to 1,084 tonnes every week, Etihad Cargo stated in an announcement.

The service operates 9 flights every week to the Chicago O’Hare Worldwide Airport and every day flights to Dulles Worldwide Airport in Washington.
Offering further capability to New York is the newest step by the service to strengthen operations within the US.
In July, Etihad’s new A350 plane made its inaugural passenger flight to the US.
Nicknamed the Sustainable50 and painted in customized livery, the airline’s flagship A350 operated to JFK airport in New York.
