Earlier this month, on 12 August, a rubbish truck of Dhaka South Metropolis Company (DSCC) was stolen from its Matuail Central Waste Dumping Station in Dhaka.
Later, on 17 August, some components of the rubbish truck’s engine have been present in a metal mill in Mograpara, Sonargaon, Narayanganj.
Whereas investigating the incident, the Detective Department (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Wari Division) arrested three folks allegedly concerned within the theft from totally different components of the nation.
They’re – Emon, an outsider who was driving the truck when it was stolen, arrested from Noakhali, DSCC driver Amir, arrested from Dhaka and Alamgir, who took the automobile aside, was arrested from Narayanganj.
They have been despatched to jail by a Dhaka courtroom on 19 August.
In line with the police, Emon and Amir offered the truck for a mere Tk60,000 to a motorcar restore store named “Shaon Enterprises” subsequent to HKG Metal Mill in Mograpara, Sonargaon.
Then on 17 August, after components of the DSCC rubbish truck’s engine have been discovered on the metal mill, a raid was carried out at Shaon Enterprises.
Alamgir, an worker of Shaon Enterprises, was arrested through the drive. As per DSCC sources, the truck was reduce, taken aside, and melted quickly after it was stolen.
Nevertheless, the individual accountable for promoting the truck and the metal mill proprietor are but to be discovered.
Efforts are underway to arrest them, added police sources.
Talking with The Enterprise Commonplace, Further Deputy Commissioner of DB (Wari division) Azharul Islam mentioned, “The three people arrested have confessed to their crimes.
“They offered the rubbish truck, price crores, for under Tk60,000. Crucial steps shall be taken upon additional investigation.”
